Monica Hernandez-Santiago

Mónica Lisete Hernández Santiago is a bilingual legal professional and business strategist with a distinguished record of advocacy, leadership, and operational excellence. Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, she graduated with honors from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor's Degree in Information and Journalism, followed by earning her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. As a first-generation attorney, Mónica has built a career grounded in justice, empowerment, and strategic growth.

Her legal practice spans complex immigration matters, including representing clients at individual hearings to secure grants of asylum, withholding of removal, protection under the Convention Against Torture, and cancellation of removal. She provides comprehensive case management, develops tailored legal strategies, and remains current with evolving immigration law. Mónica also leads and mentors legal teams, ensuring precision and excellence in all filings and proceedings.

In her role as Supervising Immigration Attorney, Mónica oversaw the operational advancement of multiple offices. Her strategic leadership and business acumen enabled her to streamline workflows, enhance performance, and drive sustainable growth across diverse teams—ultimately earning her promotion to Junior Partner.

A dedicated advocate for underserved communities, Mónica has contributed over 500 hours of pro bono service, focusing on the rights of children and youth in juvenile institutions. She has also developed educational resources for immigrant populations and published legal scholarship as a member of the UPR Law Review, including her article “Discretion or Discrimination? Racial Profiling at Ports of Entry of the United States of America.”

Mónica is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico and holds certifications as a Mediator from the same Court and as a Legal Project Practitioner from the International Institute of Legal Project Management in Australia. Fluent in Spanish and English, with working knowledge of Portuguese, she brings cultural fluency and cross-disciplinary expertise to every engagement.

Her career reflects a rare blend of legal advocacy, operational leadership, and human-centered strategy—anchored in her belief that meaningful progress begins with informed, compassionate action.
