Lourdes M. Fuentes is a seasoned litigator with decades of experience in state and federal courts, as well as a background in technology and process methodologies.

Born and raised in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Lourdes attended Georgetown University School of Foreign Service where she graduated with honors. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School and became a litigator in New York City. She has been a partner at Grais & Ellsworth LLP for the past decade, as well as the Founder & CEO of Karta Legal LLC, a 2021 National Law Journal Legal Technology Trailblazer and award-winning legal operations and law firm management consultancy.

Lourdes has been selected as one of America’s Top 100 Bet The Company Litigators and has also been recognized by the New York Law Journal as a legal Trailblazer for being an “agent of change, thought leader and innovator.”

Lourdes is admitted to practice in NY and DC, as well as to the Southern, Northern, Western, and Eastern Federal District Courts in NY.

In addition to her law degree, Lourdes is a Legal Project Manager and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. She brings to bear decades of expertise in law firm and practice management, and legal technology innovation. Lourdes has led the practice management and logistics of many high-profile cases, acting as Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Legal Operations in various roles prior to joining Sanabria & Associates. When asked to describe herself this is what she has to say: “I am part lawyer, manager, process maven, technologist, educator, Lean Six Sigma facilitator, and innovation driver.”

As the new CEO of this thriving practice, her goal is to continue expanding the national presence of the law firm and to maximize efficiencies in every aspect of law firm management, thereby adding value to the Firm’s clients. “The Firm has grown exponentially over the last five years and will continue to do so at an agile and nimble pace, distinguishing itself by providing the best legal services to its clients.
