Marlena Konopka is a first-generation Polish American. Growing up surrounded by her parents’ resilience to persevere in a new country, she approaches her mission of advocacy in the immigration field with determination and dedication.  

Marlena earned her B.S. degree in International Politics from Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service. Upon graduating, she spent a year working as a paralegal for the Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice before enrolling in law school. Marlena earned her Juris Doctor degree at American University Washington College of Law. While studying at WCL, Marlena fortified her passion for immigration law as a student attorney from the Immigrant Justice Clinic, representing clients before the Immigration Court.  

 Marlena is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is fluent in Spanish and Polish.
