Attorney Manuel Roberto Torres possesses an unwavering commitment to help immigrant families to fight for their legal rights. As a Latino born and raised in Puerto Rico, he understands and relates to the immigrants arriving to the United States.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2013 from the University of Puerto Rico graduating Magna Cum Laude. Subsequently, he attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor, graduating Cum Laude in 2016. Attorney Torres is a member of the Bar of Puerto Rico and of the State of Maryland. He is also admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Before joining Sanabria & Associates, Attorney Torres practiced civil and criminal law in Puerto Rico. His legal experience in immigration law began in Maryland where he has successfully defended immigrants and their families under removal proceedings for their claims for asylum, withholding of removal and protection under the Convention Against Torture before the immigration courts. He has also represented clients during credible fear interviews, affirmative asylum applications, family-based petitions, inadmissibility waivers, naturalization interviews and adjustment of status proceedings before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. His experience extends to argue written appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. Attorney Torres is fluent in English and Spanish.
