Being the first woman to become an attorney in her entire family, Anshara Munir Dossani does not back away from a challenge. She is the product of two hard working Pakistani immigrants who came to the U.S. to give their children the “American Dream.”

Anshara earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in 2016. Upon completion, she attended St. Thomas University School of Law, graduating in 2019. While in law school, Anshara completed a Certificate in Criminal Litigation which required her to take specialized courses to improve her proficiency in criminal litigation.

Anshara interned for the Broward County Public Defender’s office during law school where she was immersed in criminal defense litigation. She dedicated countless hours during her internship which led her to receive the Pro Bono Service Award in 2018 and 2019. She was then offered an exclusive, full-time position as a paid certified legal intern pending bar results which led to her being promoted to Assistant Public Defender upon confirmation of passing the bar.

During her time at the Broward County Public Defender’s office, Anshara zealously advocated for her clients that were charged with a wide variety of criminal matters, including numerous DUI cases, driving offenses, drug charges, domestic violence matters, sex crimes, fraud, burglary, and theft matters.

Overseeing over 25 jury trials, Anshara became one of the youngest attorneys in the Broward County Public Defender’s office to handle serious felonies. In 2021, Anshara received an award from the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers which recognized trial attorneys who, on 3 consecutive jury trials, had resulted in their client being found NOT GUILTY on all counts in each case.
